Same Sex Marriage in California

On Thursday August, 12 in San Francisco Judge Walker decided to keep same sex marriages restricted for atleast another week. However, next week top state officials will decide on the situation again, and many believe that same sex marriage will become allowed in California.

I am interested to see the outcome of the ruling made by the judges, because it is an issue that affects many people. That being said I still do not think same sex marriage should be allowed in the state of California. I just do not see it being right.

Growing up and learning morals and what is right and what is wrong, makes me know that same sex marriage is wrong. However, I do not have anything against anyone that choose the same sex it is their lives and they can choose to live it in whatever way they want, but I do not think that they should be allowed to be married. Especially, if they decide to adopt a child, it is unfair for a child to grow up under those conditions.

Ground Zero Mosque

In New York City in Ground Zero, right where the 9/11 attacks occured in 2001, there is a Mosque being built. This decision to build such a structure has angered many people, while others don’t see why a Mosque should not be built.

I for one don’t think the Mosque should be built on Ground Zero, and the idea of doing so I believe should not even be spoken of. The people that want to build the Mosque can choose to do so anywhere else, but to choose such a sensitive place is just not fair to those who lost loved ones in the attack.

Others go on to argue that it is a free country, and the people building the Mosque have to connection to the people that were included during the 9/11 attacks, and that is true. However, the lack of understanding of the situation by many who don’t know the pain it is enforcing by building a Mosque on Ground Zero leads them to believe that they are doing nothing wrong. It is like building a German cultural center in a Jewish community just after the Holocaust, to me it is common sense and it just should not be done.

Usain Bolt is Human After All

Usain Bolt since the 2008 Olympics in Beijing has seemed unbeatable. His record breaking times in multiple events made him look almost unhuman. However, we now find out he is human, as he lost today to the American sprinter Tyson Gay.

Gay ran an amazing race with a time of just 9.84 seconds defeating Bolt as he ran the 100 meter dash in 9.97 seconds. In the New York Times it shows Bolt answering questions for the media after the race, and he quotes “I’m not unbeatable. I can be beaten and it showed today.”

This race finally adds some competition to Bolt’s races, as now people will tune in to watch his races where as before they would just feel like Bolt will win and make a quick check for it in the media. For me this is exciting as I love watching these races and now with people like Gay from America, and Powell from Jamaica improving their times, I just can’t wait for the 2012 Olympics in Italy.

Wildfires in Russia

In the media today, and in the world section of the New York Times, one can read and learn about things going on in our world. In Russian over the past few days, there has been more than 800 wildfires reported. These fires have started because of tremendous heat and a lot of brush that can easily catch on fire.

So far the fires have killed 52 innocent people, and the skies especially in Moscow have been taken over by a cloud of smog. People walk around with face masks so that they do not breathe in the terrible fums that can be very harmful to the human body.

Hopefully, these fires will be taken care of and it will once again be safe to go outside and breathe freely, and homes will also be safe from the fires. This heat wave that is taking place in Russia is the worst one they have seen in over 130 years. This fact alone shows the extreme nature of the situation.

Floods in Pakistan Kill More Than 400

For the past few days in Pakistan there has been such heavy rainfall, that atleast 400 people have already died from the massive flooding. Pictures in the media for instance “latimes.com” show people struggling to walk to safety as water reaches there chests.

It is a terrible sight to see as already a 3 world country with so much tragedy, and now many villages that used to be homes to thousands is now gone. Up to 400,000 were needed to be rescued by boats and helicopters, because water and food had become scarce.

Many people are scared that the death tole will go up and that many more can be barried alive. So the most important thing to do is to move as many people as possible to better and safer areas, then provide them with food, water, and shelter. I think many more people should help, because the media has not really asked and put it out there to get help and I think they must so people know how bad the situation really is.

LeBron’s Ego

A few days ago there was an article on ESPN.com written about the self acclaimed “KING”, LeBron James. It was written by someone that was part of James’ entourage in Las Vegas, and after one night with James one can tell this guys ego shoots through the roof.

James would go from night club to night club one having a cake for him, designed as a king, while he tells the DJ to play “Im in Miami”. He stands there with his arms crossed, shaking his head to the music. Even earlier in the evening, a fan asked LeBron for a simple picture and he refused.

This guy is becoming a party animal, and the media is finally starting to realize who he really is. As he walks from night club to night club in Vegas acting like hes dunking over tables as he goes by, acting like nothing can touch him, but in reality a man that once had so much respect no has very little. Now there is a controversy about this article and why it made its way to espn.com, but I think it was a good thing for the fans to see who LeBron really is.

Inception

If you have not seen the movie Inception yet I strongly suggest you do so. This is one of the most interesting, mind blowing movies I have ever seen and it easily goes in my top 5. The director Christopher Nolan, creates a movie with everything a viewer can want. It has action, some funny scenes, and most of all it keeps you on the edge of your seat thinking for an entire 2 and a half hours.

Leonardo Di Caprio has never been better, and I will not be suprised to see this movie win best picture along with with many more awards. It is about dreaming and how in depth a dream can be, so real that you can make it nearly into reality.

The ending even keeps the viewers guessing, and I will not be one to spoil the ending but it is a nail bighter. Please go out and see this movie, it is a must see, and a must see in theatres. I guarantee you will leave the theatres satisfied, confused, and wanting to see more.
